Mark recently moved to New York City after having been a vital part of the Boston jazz scene for well over thirty years. Mark has studied with Jaki Byard, George Russell, Fred Hersch, Joanne Brackeen, and Ezra Laderman, and he holds a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music. Mark has released five CD’s with his band, The Mark Kross Five-Piece Trio. He is a co-founder of JazzWaHi, a resource for jazz education and performance in Northern Manhattan.
