Lantern Making & Rice Ball Tasting for Chinese New Year

February 3 @ 5:30 am - 7:00 am

Come celebrate the Chinese New Year with lantern making and traditional rice ball tasting. Chinese New Year lasts 15 days. On the 15th day there is a lantern festival which marks the end of celebrations. Lanterns are hung to symbolize a fresh start to the New Year. February 5th is the Lantern Festival for this year. Join Jennifer Zhang from the Winchester School of Chinese Culture to learn how to make lanterns using traditional red envelopes. At end of session, Jennifer will boil some rice balls with sweet sesame paste inside (a special lantern festival delicacy) for you to taste. Materials provided. Space is limited. Registration required.
