Join us as we welcome back the Tufts Opera Ensemble. They will be performing “Love and Laughter” scenes from opera, operetta, and musical theater. The scenes come from Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro and Magic Flute, Douglas Moore’s Ballad of Baby Doe, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Bernstein’s Wonderful Town, Hamlisch’s A Chorus Line, and Rodger’s Oklahoma. Tufts Opera is stage directed by Carol Mastrodomenico and musically directed by Thomas Stumpf. Ms. Mastrodomenico has directed the ensemble for over 20 years and Mr. Stumpf has been with the ensemble over 10 years. The Tufts Opera consists of undergraduate and graduate students, both music and non-music majors. By graduation, they have gained confidence in acting and singing opera. A wonderful annual event not to be missed.
